How is it there? You obviously have power!
We just got power on in the last hour. We were genuinely not expecting it. This morning, they didn't expect to get us back up for 1-2 weeks. The thing is, the crews can't get into New Orleans, so I guess they got us back up because of that.
Lots of damage here in Ascension Parish. We are 50 miles west of New Orleans. 50 homes got hit by trees. Downtown Gonzales had a lot of trees power poles, light poles, down in the roads. A Shell station down the street had one of those big metal canopies over the pump topple down. A gas station about a mile further down must have been hit by a mini tornado. Steel beams from it are wrapped around trees.
Our property, which is about 6 acres is literally carpeted in leaves, trees and branches. But we're safe, and tonight we have power.
