The tsunami also killed that many due to the incredible population there. Imagine a Cane like this showing up with no warning at all.... It would have killed over a million people. Thank God for our weather service and communication capabilities.
Used to do that in Eastern Pakistan all the time, normally did in 300,000 or so.
