Governor blaming AIRLINES for not getting people out on Sunday Morning?? Could you believe that? She was griping about cancelled flights, saying airlines should have flown in empty planes and flown people out?
Hey, Katie? I'll bet you didn't think to call Gerard Arpey, CEO of American, and say you'd pay to dead head planes into MSY to get people out, did you?
The airlines are running on cash-flow fumes, and you want airline operations to dig up some assets at the last minute, fly them into New Orleans, and take people out, basically for free?
This woman is an ignoramus!

Screw that....
There is ONE thing you will find in ANY airlines Staff-room, anywhere.....
The Weather Channel....
After 16 years in the biz, i'm telling you I WOULD know when it was time to leave, and if no one answers the company in-range call, the Captain isn't landing...
Smart move Governor... A few underpaid rampies should have sacrificed the lives of them and their families, so a few more tourists could leave,..
Is it just me???

They probably would have done just that - if asked. Which, no doubt, they weren't.

Err, hardly the time to bring up the financial state of the airlines. More to the point would have been: Did people make the effort to get to the airport in time? The delay in the evacuation order may have made a difference.
