Erm, no he wasn't. Stalin's favoured scientist Lysenko was so ideologically opposed to evolution by natural selection that all Soviet biologists had to follow his baloney theories, utterly destroying Russian biology for a whole generation. Oops!Enlighten me as to Stalin's and Lysenko's belief on origins. Both were evolutionists, Lysenko just had no clue regarding genetics.

Both Stalin and Lysenko were LAMARKIAN evolutionists.
While Darwinian evolution has been demonstrated in the lab (yes it HAS!); Lamarkian evolution has been shown to be false in the lab. Moreover Darwinian evolution has an actual mechanism proposed (DNA, mutation, selection) while Lamarkian evolution has to rely on "vital forces" that apparently don't work in the lab (or anywhere else for that matter).
Neither Stalin or Lysenko was interested in Science, only Communist ideology. Lamarkian evolution falls in line with Communist ideology, and like Communist economic theory- it has been entirely disproven and discredited.
