I am ex oil field trash (smile when you say that) also. And since the 1980's, the petroleum infrastructure in the US has deteriorated beyond anything I could have thought imaginable.
The PC enviro Nazies have virtually destroyed the domestic exploration, drilling, production and refining industries.
The last refinery was built in 1979 at Garyville, LA by Marathon Oil Company (which I retired from)

The worst thing that could happen now is a couple of major terrorist strikes on oil producing areas in the ME or worse on refineries.
