Please explain to me how any of these markets are free to operate as a free market? Not one of your examples is a free market, yet you propose a solution of more government interference to solve problems created by to much government intervention. What is that definition of insanity?
You are making my point. Not one of these problems will be solved by a free market, so if they are going to be fixed, the government is going to have to step in do its part. Government intervention doesn't mean more government, it may mean less. But, until we show some political spine on this the problem is not going to go away. What is it going to take to build a new refinery in this country? Whatever it is, we should do it; do a lot of it; and, do it now.

Good post, as was the other one. I knew what you were saying, and so did the others. They just want to ignore the fact that our government has made this mess by bowing to enviro-nuts and making silly policy.
It is going to take a move by our government. One in which it removes all or most of the red tape on new refineries and nuke plants. They also need to remove all state requirements and fed requirements on grades and blends of gas.

"Government intervention doesn't mean more government, it may mean less."
With that clarification, we are in agreement.
