I'll say it's a real problem.
According to Fox, some of the pumps do work on electricity, some on diesel. The diesel ones will never work while under water. And with no electricity, well the electric ones won't work either.
But with advances in technology they need to re-think that whole set up.

I need Freeper help! My sister is trying to get out of MS on 55 going into Birmingham. I have checked the MS DOT site and there isn't much detail on road closings....anyone got any info on roads coming out of Jasper Cty MS???

8:39 A.M. WWL-TV studios are being evacuated as rising water is coming into the station. The French Quarter is taking on water and water is expected to rise in the city for the next few days.
