I may have been a little girl, back then, but I had a current events/political junkie for a mother, who forced me to watch the Army-McCarthy Hearing. I happen to have a far better than average memory and whilst I really didn't understand all of that stuff, as I watched it, I remember it all and understand it now!

You need to educate yourself; you're damned dead wrong about McCarthy! He was a HERO of monumental proportions and no nut.

My friend, I say again, I lived through it: I was there. He started off with good intentions but, as with many politicians he started feeling invincible and smearing people without adequate evidence [much like the syncophants of our former Pres., Bill Clinton].

You will find most people have both good and bad qualities and it is never a good idea to accept someone's view totally.
