I think what you say has merit about waiting until after Labor Day...and especially when Congress is back in session.
I bet there are a lot of people that don't know that after basically calling Weldon and Schaeffer liars, that Larry DiRita finally came out and said that they should NOT be questioned about their recollections of events...
I bet a lot of people still remember the initial allegations by DiRita...but Crawford and the Hurricane is all the news now.
August has ALWAYS been "the silly season", when the general populace has NEVER paid any attention to things political. It's an American tradition centuries old.
Come September and the start of school, adults get back to taking things a bit more seriously.
And the hurricane has everyone a twitter right now; as it should do.
