If the driver happened to be Sharpton's chauffer or employee, he could be considered an "agent" for Sharpton and if he were taking orders, that could make the good reverend an accessory. Personally, I hope this is the case.

Agree, but that wasn't mentioned.

Most of these guys that travel, hire drivers and cars. It's cheaper, they don't have to keep a fleet of cars in each city, they don't pay the insurance etc. Cheaper and easier to hire a driver and car.

If it was a for hire driver, the driver was probably impressed with Sharptons celebrity etc, or a supporter of his and got himself arrested. I just doubt that Sharpton travels the country with his own personal driver, when he could just hire a sedan driver. Most airports and towns are loaded with them. Who knows, maybe sharpton told the driver he'd get a big time tip if he just ignored the LE.

BT, you are correct. But the main reason rich folk have drivers (or cannot drive themselves) is specifically for liability. If they have an accident, and someone is killed, then the floodgates open in a civil trial. The primary way to protect themselves from liability is that they hire a professional driver.

Look. Forget about my 'splainin. Do you think the State Troopers are ignorant of Texas Traffic Law? Do you think they just arrested only the driver because they only had room for one more in jail? C'mon! If there was a criminal statute potentially violated by Rev Al, he'd be in jail. Since there was no wreck, and nobody injured but an affront to the People of Texas through the law, then there is no civil case to be brought, either.
