Hotel guests are being told they must check out of their rooms, but at the same time, they are told they can't come home. Plenty of campers in Wal-Mart parking lots. Local businesses such as restaurants and supermarkets are doing booming business, no problems at gas stations. One hotel which usually advertises rooms for $31.99 was caught charging $170 for a double. Lots of impromptu family reunions, with some people hosting 25-50 guests at their homes. KALB is starting to broadcast information about local tourist attractions like the Alexandria Zoo and T.R.E.E. House because evacuee parents are trying to keep their restless families occupied.
