This area will have pockets of blighted neighborhoods for years .. and when they can find the appropriate places, FEMA tent cities will be erected for a couple of years or longer .. and a thoroughly disheartened and stressed-out populace and completely transformed landscape. Just like after Andrew, Charley, Jeanne, Frances, Ivan and Dennis, there will be rebuilding and eventual recovery, but it will never be the same again. And the psychological scars will remain forever from this life-altering event.

I agree that the pictures and stories we'll be seeing and hearing from this event in the following days, however, will dwarf the previous storms in the sheer volume of affected regional area and extent of loss and reconstruction necessary. This will rightfully be called a cataclysmic killer storm .. historic in all proportions of breadth of horror,loss and damage. God bless these suffering souls.
