While I am very upset about the illegal problem I have been trying hard to see the President's POV about the issue.
Then it occurred to me, why not seal them shut for 6 months and see what happens to prices and jobs. Then it is no longer a hypothetical situation, we will know the results.

Not  a bad idea since at this point we have more than enough illegal aliens to do the "jobs Americans refuse to do"

And even that's not a reason to keep the border secure. If it's true that we need the foreign cheap labor, than we can bring it in the proper way. But there's absolutely no reason whatsoever to keep the borders so porous.
