I heard last night that evacuation traffic was at a dead stop at a point which should have been a 22 minute drive from the city. Can't verify the truth of the. But I've concluded that the best was to evacuate is by motorcycle, ORV or even a bicycle. Don't depend on the roads.

It can often talk hours to go just a few miles.....
for example, our 2 hour trip took 13 hours. The lesson is get out early, or go in the opposite direction of everyone else ;)

Hard won point I could not keep from forcing to every one!
It took my girlfriends mother 7 1/2 hurs to get to Baton Rouge from New Orleans. Never again!
