ah, I know the kind - it sounds like the milwaukee journal / sentintel. Cicrulation keeps dropping, they keep adding liberal columinsts and journalists, they run specials, and they can't figure out why fewer and fewer people subscribe to their trash.
It's a paper that has (had) larger subscriber numbers, but their narrow attitude turned it into a small-time operation.

And the Hampton Roads Daily Press (AKA Daily Depressed). There was a time we had two papers, the morning Daily Press (at the time AKA the Morning Mistake) and the afternoon Times-Herald (AKA the Afternoon Correction). The Daily Press bought the Times-Herald. The Chicago Tribune bought the Daily Press.
Soon thereafter the paper took a hard turn to the left. Circulation dropped like a rock. The Yankee Liberals in charge made several cosmetic changes and dropped the subscription price several times but circulation continues to drop.
They blame the Internet.
