August 28, 2005--In a hypothetical match-up for the 2008 Presidential Election, Democrat Hillary Clinton leads Republican Condoleezza Rice by six percentage points--44% to 38%.
Six months ago, Clinton was ahead by seven percentage points--47% to 40%.
The Rasmussen Reports survey also found that the former First Lady leads the current First Lady by ten percentage points, 47% to 37%. Laura Bush has never held public office and never given any indication that she could ever be a candidate.
Bush is viewed more favorably than either of the other women in this survey. Fifty-five percent (55%) have a favorable opinion of Laura Bush while just 27% hold an unfavorable opinion.
For Condoleezza Rice, the numbers are 43% favorable and 33% unfavorable.
Hillary Clinton is viewed favorably by 42% and unfavorably by 43%. The Hillary Meter has measured the New York Senator's efforts to move to the political center this year. Currently, 28% of Americans say they would definitely vote for her and 39% would definitely vote against.
Seems a bit pessimistic towards Hillary. She should get almost all of her husband's support and that of a few outside women.
I've voted straight pubbie ticket both national and local for many years.. And I WILL NOT vote for another RINO.. AND "they" WILL run a RINO, you know.. I think you are right.. Sad to say the Hildebeast WILL BE our next president.. Vote for Hillary?,, I would pull my teeth by pliers first.. except not voteing is a vote for Hillary.. in that case I suppose I will.. At least Hillary might cause a revolution.. or Coup D'Etat..
By the way, wherever Hillary goes, Bill goes TOO.. a legal way back into the White House.. And whoever don't like that and can do something about it, will soon be DEAD, after they are elected, maybe before, it'll start... How soon we forget the 8 LOooooong years of their time there.. and the Clinton death list years..
With all due respect, BILL doesn't have any such record. That 'record' exists only in his and the minds of his fawning pimps in the MSM. It's a myth like King Solomon's Mine.
The only exception, if at all, was his butt kissing aide Rahm Emanuel. But a three legged dead dog with a "D" would win that district in Chicago. Heck, John Wayne Gacy or Richard Speck could have won that one - and after they were convicted. Ergo, "Bill's" support for Rahm is a mute point.
So I'm sorry, but "Bill" never beat the snot out of anyone. Wait... I forgot about Juanita Broderick. She, he did beat, literally.
"Anyone who supports Condi Rice, at this point, can't be considered a rational voter. No one has any clue where she stands on a single domestic issue, because she has never taken a single position on anything outside of foreign policy. Besides that, she has never held any elective office. "
I think that the fact the she is an African american woman running for president on the GOP side is truly the nighmare scenario for the dems. I think that is attractive to alot of people. Anything that is a "nightmare scenario for the dems" can, most times, be construed as good for the rest of America. I'd vote for her over Hill in a second, and no I wouldn't stay home.
"And if like most Condi detractors, abortion is your concern, what do you think she would DO (or not do) differently than Bush has DONE?"
And, more importantly, what do you think a DEMOCRAT would do/not do? That's what gets me about these 1-issue voters. What exactly do they think the Democrats will do about abortion if they help one get elected by staying home?
For the life of me, I can't imagine this Country wants to see that family in the White House again. I just refuse to believe it.
you mean Ashley Wilkes?
Let's look at Condi Rice's statement on the Second Amendment from Larry King Live from this past May, since you weren't paying attention:
MR. KING: What do you make, Madame Secretary, of violence as an answer? Well, we were born in violence, right? We had a --SECRETARY RICE: Yes.
MR. KING: That fellow: "When in the course of human events."
SECRETARY RICE: Right, yes.
MR. KING: We have a Second Amendment. People can own guns.
SECRETARY RICE: Yes.
MR. KING: By the way, what do you think about gun control?
SECRETARY RICE: Well, Larry, I come out of a -- my own personal experiences in which in Birmingham, Alabama, my father and his friends defended our community in 1962 and 1963 against white nightriders by going to the head of the community, the head of the cul-de-sac, and sitting there armed. And so I'm very concerned about any abridgement of the Second Amendment. I'll tell you that I know that if Bull Connor had had lists of registered weapons, I don't think my father and his friends would have been sitting at the head of the community defending the community.
MR. KING: So you would not change the Second Amendment? You would not --
SECRETARY RICE: I also don't think we get to pick and choose in the Constitution. The Second Amendment is as important as the First Amendment of the --
MR. KING: But doesn't having the guns, while it's protection, also leads to people killing people?
SECRETARY RICE: Well, obviously, the sources of violence are many and we need to get at the sources of violence. Obviously, I'm very much in favor of things like background checks and, you know, and controlling at gun shows. And there are lots of things we can do. But we have to be very careful when we start abridging rights that our Founding Fathers thought very important. And on this one, I think that they understood that there might be circumstances that people like my father experienced in Birmingham, Alabama, when, in fact, the police weren't going to protect you.
MR. KING: Did you see him take the guns?
SECRETARY RICE: Oh, absolutely. Every night, he and his friends kind of organized a little brigade.
Facts are our friends.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
Secondly, talk about not passing a laugh test. Since when do conservatives admonish people for NOT watching Larry King Live on CNN? I'm at fault because I apparantly had better things to do that night? Now that's funny.
Lastly, it's a great quote, and even words on the record are something. They fall slightly short of public deeds, but it's a start.
Considering Condi hasn't been campaigning at all and Hitlery has been this is hillarious.
Would be fun to watch the left run headlong into the first Black & first Woman president under the GOP banner.
Beautiful logic.
Dole doesn't count. LOL!
Notice you didn't mention Bush there either.
Nope, that doesn't count at all. No, not at all. No siree.
What a joke. Winning is the only thing that counts, and he did.
And, In fact those 8 years? Naw, they don't count at all.
With voters like you, they doesn't need much more support to breeze into the WH.
We're not ready for a woman president, that's my opinion!
Let a MAN lead!!!!
There must be some GOOD MEN still out there!
It's too early to throw our FREEDOM away
to the Jaws of Hillary!
