Sorry, I don't know about Gulf Shores. Maybe someone else can help.

You might find it next to impossible to get to Gulf shores this week,

GULF SHORES, Ala. (AP) - Hurricane Katrina is pounding Alabama's most popular beaches with stinging rain and powerful wind gusts that pushed Gulf waters into streets in a rising storm surge.

Gulf Shores and Orange Beach both resemble ghost towns today as the storm roared ashore in Louisiana around 5 a-m.

Flooding is the worst in Gulf Shores. Police Chief Arthur Bourne said the water is as high as it was during Hurricane Ivan a year ago, meaning it could be days before homeowners get in to assess damage and begin cleaning up.
