Yes, please cite your source! Although I'm safe with friends in Georgia, my home is (or was) in St. Bernard Parish.
Supposedly in Hurricane Betsy, my area stayed dry, while a section known as Arabi was flooded to a depth of several feet. Arabi is adjacent to the 9th Ward of New Orleans, where the levee break reportedly took place. Both are supposedly flooding as they did in Hurricane Betsy. Also, parts of St. Bernard lie completely outside the hurricane protection levees. Flooding can vary widely, and St. Bernard is large, so any details will be much appreciated!
I hate when people like this "state senator" make blanket statements. Kinda like FOX saying earlier that the "area south of Lake Pontchartrain is completely flooded." ALL of New Orleans is south of the lake!

I was thinking the same thing about the "south of the lake" statement. It's essentially meaningless since so, so much lies "south of the lake".
I thought they deliberately dynamited the levee south of New Orleans during Betsy to save Uptown. That's what I heard, at least. Was that just a rumor?
