The immediate surge danger is receeding - winds are now out of the west which will push the surge out of Ponchatrain.
However, if there is any kind of breach, if it grows the lake could flood through it. We'll have to see what happens when crews get out to inspect the levees. Hopefully there was only some wave overtopping and no serious erosion or damage.
I do want to thank the reporters who try to give us a visual, including Steve Harrington. I, for one, would rather see what is going on, than just hear a description.
