"My sister told me this morning that her 7 year-old asked why almost all the people in the line were black. Of course, it was something we all noticed, but nobody but a child would say it. I saw alot of Blacks, but I also saw alot of Cajun White types."

I guess I just saw a lot of human beings. But that's just me.

I agree, it was a diverse representation of people, probably a fair representation of the population there.

Obviously you have a point of view beyond that of a seven year old child. This was an excellent teaching opportunity, and I'm sure the parents of this child were responsive to this innocent observation.

also may depend on what part of the country you are from. There are areas were non-whites are a definite minority, and to someone watching from there it might seem perceptually different.

When I leave the south (I am from Mississippi) to, say, western colorado, I am ALWAYS taken aback at interacting with whites in almost all transactions, even service jobs.
