I have family that live in Slidell. North shore...they evacuated but any chance they will have homes not under water?

My family in Slidell live by the Pearl. They left for Houston yesterday. Sure hope their home is still there when they get back. My aunt is almost blind and uncle has diabetes.

I'll keep your family in my prayers too.

NW corner of the Slidell City limits show to be at +27 feet.

NE corner, 30 feet. That's above the upper limit of the forecast isolated surges.

SW and SE corners show 13 feet. That's cutting it pretty fine. How much foundation sticks out of the ground?

Lots of variables, but I can't see any obvious funneling effects in that area. The big freeways might even act as levees, if they don't wash out.
