Cover with brown sugar.

Sprinkle on ground cinnimon.

Place in toaster oven or under broiler until butter melts, bread toasts and the brown sugar darkens.

Allow to cool before eating to avoid injury to mouth and tongue.

I finally caught up with this thread after running a couple hundred behind for most of the night. Thanks to all for all the hurricane info, the recipes, and enough good humor to keep everyone sane! My prayers for everyone who is in harm's way. G'night :)

I used to make that when I was a college student. I didn't have a broiler but I had a toaster. I'd lay my toaster on it's side and slide the bread in with all the goodies on top. Worked perfectly and I didn't even burn down the apartment building.

Now, back to hurrican Katrina before someone burns my....ummm, toast. LOL
