the fate of the animals at the Audobon Zoo will be

There was a documentary type show on the History Channel (I think). The curators and zoo keepers help bunker in the especially vulnerable animals. The zoo on the show was the one in southern Florida during Andrew or Ivan... I can't remember. It was amazing how the animals had instincts to survive.

Yes, I remember that the zoo keepers were amazed at how many animals survied Hurrican Andrew, as was I! But the big difference between NO and Florida is that the Audobon zoo is below the Mississippi like everything else, and I imagine that zoo will be under water.
