We will do it again next time there is a terrible tornado in Okla. Just kidding, hope that never happens again.

I wish my Momma was here, she would cook some good banana pudding with vanilla wafers,,,

Now you've done it, cajungirl! I am pregnant and you just set off a major craving. My mom used to make that when I was a kid (German mom but we lived in the South and she learned a lot of recipes from Southern friends!) I am going to have to call her tomorrow and pester her to make some very soon.

Drudge headline: "65ft. Waves Offshore"

That makes Katrina far worse than the Galveston 1900 Storm, doesn't it? That is really hard to imagine and horrifying.

Go to sleep.

The estimated position for the storm 12 hours from 10 pm CDT is still offshore, 19.7 miles SSE of Port Sulphur, and 6.5 miles south of the beach.

FOlks, landfall can vary depending upon whether it speeds up or slows down.

It slowed down to where if it goes at this speed, it may not hit until 6 or 7 a.m.

Earlier, it could have hit as early as 4 to 5 a.m.

Landfall is not set in stone here.

But, a good guess would be early morning before sunrise...if it really puts on the breaks...during morning commute.

Recipe's are a great stress reliever not to mention the rest of us are picking up some recipe's to try out.

I just thought it was a little distracting. But be my guest, and post your recipes!

"I'm all for keeping this a hurricane thread...but, like a poster mentioned, LIVE threads that are dealing with high stress levels tend to end up with recipe talk...

There are other threads you can use to relieve stress. I'm checking this one for the latest facts and don't want to scroll through 50 chit-chat posts to find it.

Seriously folks, a lot of people are going to be going to bed and checking back later. Let's not clutter this thread, if possible, so we can find the news quickly when coming back in.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I think I heard one in six do not own a vehicle and then there are those who do not have the finances to move out of town. I would hope they have relocated to the Superdome.

I think Shep also said that there are some very rich people there who refuse to leave, I don't get that.
