WBRZ just showed video of the French Quarter empty, and then some of downtown...
the only people hanging out looked like the looters.
;o)
If you drank a shot before dissing TK, you're good.
yeah that wind didn't look right at all...
Yup. We're all set and the doggies are all tucked in. We're in a hurry up and wait mode.
Conservaties sometimes go that extra little bit to live up to the dull and humorless stereotype. :-)
As for me, I have a good sense of humor!
Yeah, a lot of people with family in the area, from the area, or who just have fond memories of visiting take some comfort in remembering the good times in light of impending disaster. I don't think it diverts from the seriousness of the moment. If some people need a recipe to help cope, I say give it to them.
2 to 3 cups okra, sliced 1/4 inch thick,
1 green tomato chopped,
1 onion chopped,
1 to 2 banana peppers chopped,
approximately 1/2 cup of white corn meal,
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup olive oil.
Dredge together all vegetables with corn meal and black pepper. Heat cast iron skillet with olive oil, then add ingredients. Fry over hot stove, stirring occasionally, until golden brown (some will blacken). When done, pour into bowl lined with paper towel to absorb any oil remnants. Each person can salt his own serving to taste.
To die for!
Especially considering that NO's facilities and hospitals are going to be out of order, probably for weeks at least. The rest of the country can take up the slack, and there will be slack, no two ways about it.
I'm more concerned now than I was watching Shock and Awe.
I don't know what time landfall is.
Sorry!
The 2136 Vortex plot averages with the 1255, 1538, and 1731 plots to produce landfall on a line from the present position to 5.7 miles due west of Houma.
The 2136 and 1731 plots may give subtle indication of a northward turn, and produce a line which passes 4.1 miles east of Houma.
I'll have a glass of barley soup, thank you very much.
Not seeing it, I click on the link, and it only show the crowd.
How about New Madrid?
Looks like my cousins in Pensacola are safe for now. I hope. I pray most of the people in New Orleans get out.
1/2 cup sugar; 1 tablespoon powdered cinnamon -- mix well. sprinkle over hot buttered toast.
There are some here that know much more than me. Not sure why this thread seems pretty empty of them though.
