I think I have a problem with you suggesting bad people are being punished by G-d in this storm.
I'm not going to put up with this any longer.

interesting ...
if you have no religious belief , why would it bother you if someone else did ?
then on the other hand ...
if you have some religious belief .. wouldn't you say the hand of G_d has been shown many times through history?

Are we to believe that he doesn't act in these "modern" times?

if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and seek my face ...

The point is that he was asked to not make the statements yet continued - that was the reason for the banning - not his religious beliefs.

I have a real problem with you people damning other people.

And I don't think I'm alone.

Can't you just keep your pontificating to yourself, or do you need to do it in public to feel like you're a big man?

Knock it off - ridiculously irresponsible of you and the other 2 that are using this as a place to cause religeous conflict.

Agreed. God is active in history and he does punish people with natural phenomena for sinning against Him. Is that what this is? Maybe. But, I wouldn't say it would be so much on New Orleans per say but on America for the many sins she has tolerated for some time. Between our abortions, our rapes, our murders, our promotion of homosexuality, and most recently and most significantly our betrayal of Israel by pushing her to give up Gaza and other pieces of Israel to terrorists, I believe what we are seeing at the least is a lifting of God's hand of protection. We scream out at every turn "we don't need God" then are perplexed that he might oblige us.

I pray that the people are spared. They break my heart. But when I heard Shep Smith's comments from the bar on Bourbon street earlier this afternoon, I couldn't help but think about Matthew 24:37-39
37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

So many are just brushing this off. Eating, drinking, shrugging their shoulders as they face a watery grave.

May God have mercy on our nation.

Any 'god' that would wipe out an entire city to 'punish' the folks you find distasteful can kiss my scots/irish ass.
Ditto for your ilk.
