Bastardi very confrontational right now.
To: SamAdams76
He's pretty funny... but he sounds like he knows hurricanes...
To: Euro-American Scum
Dont know. Just flipped to see something different than the same stories FOX has been repeating.
Guy saying at about midnight it looks like a million will have left NO.
To: Normal4me
Yep, and good architects do not design buildings that are impossible to engineer. (Thinking of Paul Rudolph here... his buildings drove everyone nuts, always leaked, and the finger-pointing would go on forever!)
To: oceanview
Bastardi also stated this is the THIRD worst hurricane ever recorded...when it weakens, what's it going to? #7 worst out of thousands??...
He's AWESOME!!

What a horrible thing to say! Why are you even bothering to read this thread?

That's Doctor Walter Maestri, New Orleans Dir. Emergency Mgmt.
He has had one hell of a Doomsday prediction for a Hurricane of this magnitude.
He says that it will take 6 months just to pump out the city, IF it fills up with water..
He had predicted a loss of 40,000 lives with a Force 5. I pray he is not even close.

"Amazing that people STILL think the only end product is gasoline...and even more amazing...they still haven't gotten a grip on the fact that a gallon of gatorade is more expensive that a gallon of gasoline...they just haven't consumed 30 gallons of gatorade week after week after week after week...any time lately."Okay that does it! I'm switching from gatorade to gasoline...I don't think it will taste as good though...

Y'all, I would listen to Bastardi if I were you. He's been right on several weather events in the Raleigh area when everybody else said something different and they ended up being wrong.

Looking at CNN, I cannot believe that traffic jam -- with one whole side of the road EMPTY. Replying a bit late (finally saw it on CNN), but it looks like they should clear out before hurricane-force winds hit. Whether or not they'll get hit by tornadoes, that's another question.

Is it just me, or is Bastardi (on FNC) pretty dang irritated about something? He sounds like he'd like to snap Hemmer's neck. lol

It does feel much more serious.
That lady will be doing God's work tonight, spreading His word. Wouldn't it be scary to not have that faith?
I wish they could send about 2" of that up here to central Nebraska every day for the next week!No need for the wind and tornados, but we certainly could use the rain!

Off topic,,is it morally wrong of me to have a bag of hershey's kisses that my husband does not know about just in case the power goes out. Do I have to share? You have to give him half of whatever you tell him about ;) . So if you have a 12 oz bag tell him it's 8 oz and give him half of that (4 oz). After all, you were the one who bought them and cared for them until you ate them and so you are entitled to a cut of them off the top .

NO has the ONLY supertanker hub for the US. At least that is what has been reported. Bellingham, Wa, gets supertankers all the time.
