From a west-coaster who is trying hard to grasp this...why in the He** would they do that????
The only thing I can think of--is to allow the LEO overseeing traffic control to get out of there too.
The contraflow will stop TODAY at 4 p.m.???
I question this, there is no reason. I-10 is bumper to bumper -- maybe just noise. There are other routes in if you really must.
The challenge is to get people out so they don't drown.
They have time estimates for how long it will take for X amount of cars to get to safety. Someone posted that being stuck in a car will be deadly when this starts and the winds are already picking up.
