Reports from an Air Force hurricane hunter aircraft indicate that the maximum sustained winds have increased to near
175 mph
...with higher gusts. Katrina is a potentially catastrophic category five hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale. Some fluctuations in strength are likely during the next 24 hours.
No one should stick around for this one. Prayers for the protection of all in it's path.

Anyone know the specs of the Super Dome. How much wind can the roof sustain? With Andrew F5's were in the hurricane. NO way that roof can sustain a F5.
Wind gust of 225 mph is projected.
