Ah, Morning Call, you remember it too.

The marble, the mirrors, the 100watt bulbs.
Sure hated to see it gone.

We used to go to a place called Buster Holm's for
red Beans and rice, ultra cheap but filling.

I lived in an little apt over a mom and pop gro on
Jackson street, used to watch ZULU form up in front
of my stoop.

My prayers are with them.

And what about oysters at Acme Oyster Bar, Po' Boy sandwiches at Johnny's, shrimp at Ugelisch's, and a nice Pimm's Cup at Napoleon House?

The smell of old wood at M.S.Rau and the sound of the cathedral clock in Jackson Square.

I feel like crying. The memories, the memories...

The smell of old wood at M.S.Rau and the sound of the cathedral clock in Jackson Square. Riding the St.Charles streetcar back from the Camilia Grill, and watching the cut glass windows of the Garden District mansions sparkle in the streetlights. The way the moist, hot air hugged your body in July...Making grocerties at the A & P in the French Quarter.

I feel like crying. The memories, the memories...

I used to eat at the original Buster Holmes...back in the early 70s, you could get a plate of beans, rice and bread for 30 cents, which was incredibly cheap even then...hadn't thought about that place in a long, long time...

O God, so many memories...

The coconut my wife got from Zulu may be an even more prized possession come tomorrow.
