Yes, Gallup's performance in state polling was abysmal.

I hope they stay out of that business in the future.

I'm not trying to rip on Rasmussen, I like his polling very much.

That's nice.

A poll does not have to translate into voters in order to be relevant.

I hope so to and the little fact that we have had to amend ours 27 times, even after scrapping the Articles of Confederation and starting all over again! Some people, eh?

And if President Bush gets tough on the border situation, he will see at least a 15% increase. Then attack the oil problem, and he will gain more. President Bush need to be getting better advice than I suspect he is getting.

Thirty-nine percent (39%) of Americans believe it is time to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq.

"Cut&run" is not an option.

The press and its negative reporting on Iraq has placed antiwar protests front and center. Pure propaganda.

Clinton was at about 60% at this time in 1997.

Gas was also $1.20 a gallon.

That has more to do with it than anything.

No doubt.

But we all suffered from clinton's leadership model, that of unethical practices, as the false reporting of stock, as unethical accounting practices in major corporations, reared its ugly face and we almost slipped into a major recession. President Bush deflected this with his policies and demand for accountable business practices.

clinton's playbook was a house of cards.

All polls are worthless. Too many ways they can be screwed with. Although, the Rasmussen polls are the least worthless :)

and she can poll no better than mid 40s.

I've observed that there is about a solid 42% of the electorate that would vote for any Clinton, even if he/she had horns and their head spun around 365-degrees.

This is more than likely a fake poll. I don't buy into these off-season polls. The only poll that matters is election day.
