Well US authorities have quietly been picking up several suspects in the last month, some In LA, and some in NY state.
So we may have foiled something without actually ever hearing about what it is.
Still there are risks to be borne, and I'm more worried about Australia than the US. Either country could be hit, but I suspect our intelligence is better than theirs. They tend to be a pretty laid back bunch.
While the general population of Australia may be laid back, their miltary and special forces are first rate.

Australiaapproves monitoring inside mosques
Canberra - Australian Prime Minister John Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spies monitoring the nation's mosques.
He was speaking just hours before bidding farewell to a unit of Australian elite troops heading for combat duty in Afghanistan in a deployment sure to further upset many Muslims here.
A day after holding a summit with 13 moderate Australian Islamic leaders, Howard said the government had a right to know if parts of the Islamic community supported or preached violence, and he favoured infiltration of mosques and schools if needed.
The population may be laid back and complacent, but you can bet John Howard isn't going to stand idly by anytime soon as long as he is the PM. I hate to say this but between the US, Britain and Australia, I'd say AQ is probably looking more closely at Australia, since they haven't hatched an attack on Australian home soil as of yet, even though the Bali bombing did hit pretty close to "home" for Australia.
