I have a question. What is the likely hood or is there even any of a storm of this magnitude slamming into land and effecting the New Madrid Fault? Will the flooding that is sure to come right up thru where the fault lies have any effect. The New Madrid has been showing recent signs of more activity. This hurricane scares me to death but I can not quit thinking about the fault line....!!! as if this monster of a storm is not bad enough.

That's not too far-fetched. I just saw something about hurricanes creating earth tremors on their own.

But it would be a longshot as far as triggering any big earthquake.
