As per this site http://www.easternuswx.com/bb/index.php?showtopic=47645

it may be making a north turn. A glimmer of hope for NO but still no way to avoid unbelievable damage. It's so big that there doesn't have to be a direct hit for catastrophe. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have been tearing up all morning. I just can't grasp the scope of this. And the weather experts on this site can't stop saying Holy S***. If they are speechless, it's going to be worse then we can imagine.

I'm not tearing up.

Maybe it's because I'm having a hard time comprehending the level of destruction that could happen.

I've read many many accounts since last night and still, it's hard to fathom the intensity of the storm and the damage it'll cause.

the turn matches with the NHC track, so while it is good in the sense that it means she likely will not go to the west of NO, it will probably still come close enough to the east to give really bad winds anyway and lots of flooding problems, though hopefully not as bad as the doomsday situation since it would be moving northeast.
