I have a friend who works for the owner of one of the downtown high-rise bldgs and they do not want even tenants in them during a storm. The trend in thinking the last few yrs is that higher buildings take higher winds than lower ones, and that means more damage and liability to anyone within. Best thing to do is get out of town.

liability.

How sad that we have come to having to consider litigation before decency. Sadly, people would sue.

Makes total sense.

I was thinking of the taller buildings as a refuge from the inevitable flood of water.

I did think of the winds but felt that if people tried to stay away from the windows as much as possible, they might be OK.

But you're right. The best bet would be to get the hell out of NO as soon as freakin' possible.
