I'll say it again--the water levels here in Tampa Bay are very high this morning, and this storm is nowhere in sight.
Mobile Bay is on the dirty side of this giant storm. The bay is going to have a lot of water shoved up into it.

Jim Cantore pointed at a casino on the oceanfront in Biloxi and speculated rather strongly: "Look at it. In all likelihood, in the aftermath of this storm, it will be gone."

Everyone has been concentrating on NO for good reason. This thing is so huge and so destructive that I hope places like Mobile and other places on the Gulf coast are taking proper precautions.

The bay is going to have a lot of water shoved up into it.I'm usually pretty squirrely about storms, having grown up in Mobile and experiencing many of these suckers. It's a normal reaction, but with this one I've got a bad feeling. In Modern times Mobile has dodged that nightmare scenario just as NOLA has. I fear you are correct in your assessment.
