I'm no expert on CORE's history, but I know it started as a sound civil rights organization in the 1940s, made a deep turn towards militancy for a while with a definite 'Black Power' tint in the latter half of the 1960s, and then turned the corner as far more moderate organization. I even think Roy Innis even backed Robert Bork, but I'm working from memory on that one.
I chuckle every time I remember Roy putting Sharpton on the floor on National TV, LOL
