CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, August 26, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) A new study has revealed that unborn babies cry within the womb. Ultrasound videos taken of infants within the womb revealed 28-week-old babies crying in response to a noise stimulus.
Scientists played a 90-decibel noise to the unborn child, roughly the equivalent of a tummy rumbling, and recorded the effect the noise had via ultrasound. It was strikingly like an infant crying, said New Zealand pediatrician Ed Mitchell, who contributed to the US study, according to New Zealand's The Age. Even the bottom lip quivers.
Up until now, it was known that infants born very prematurely at 28 weeks could cry, but it was believed that the infant only cried when air had entered the lungs after birth.
The findings, published in the journal, Archives of Disease in Childhood Fetal and Neonatal Edition, reinforce the fact that babies experience pain and discomfort well before many abortionists claim. We actually still do things to babies without anaesthesia, professor Mitchell added. Maybe this is a wake-up call to obstetricians and neonatologists.
Commenting recently on the issue of fetal pain, Dr. Paul Ranalli, professor of neurology at the University of Toronto, said: "Across the nation, Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) are full of bravely struggling preemies . . . The only difference between a child in the womb at this stage, or one born and cared for in an incubator, is how they receive oxygen -- either through the umbilical cord or through the lungs. There is no difference in their nervous systems.

The recent JAMA article by an abortionist and former NARAL activist wherein they didn't even disclose their conflicts was done to counter actual real science being done, such as this

Of course! And the liberals, claiming that the fetus signaling "pain signals" is a mere biologic "reflex" are the same who argue for euthanasia by writ large.
"I feel your pain."
Of course these little folks feel pain.
Thanks! Will ping out the Moral Absolutes list later today.
Wow. Maybe that's what the cat heard. I always figured she could hear their heartbeats.
I think you have something there. When I was 9 months pregnant with my son and laying down, my golden tabby walked up upon my tummy, and claimed me. She'd never done that or anything like that before. She always wanted to be a mommy. Still acts like one to her sibling 17-year olds. She watches over my son, too.
Yeah...at first. And then the kid starts going like this:
"[Whew!]...It is really hot down here! [fweet!] Mom! MOM! Youre not wolfin down jalapeños again, are ya?! Yeah, 'cuz lemme tell ya bout my friend Ned...his mama ate nothin but spicy foods? Homeboy came out red, Ma! Bright red! So if you keep crammin those peppers down your neck, I might just bust out of here early...grab somethin on the way out, take it with me!
Agnes would huddle up next to my stomach every time I sat down, when I was pregnant. And when I was in labor before James was born, she settled herself right on my broadest point and spent most of the night with me.
It will be strange having a baby with no cat this time!
AWWW!
With my first and second, we had no pets, yet. Then a stray we'd adopted gave birth to 4. I had found homes for them, was paying bills one day, when my eldest and hubby, arms around each other announced "We don't give babies away in this house".
heh.
So, yes, I am the pac mother of now only 3 aged cats, and a wonderful dog, my loyal and regular walking partner.
I'd lay, most uncomfortably while carrying my 3rd, with all these animals each trying to lay on a part of me.
I've learned to how to sleep, contortionist style. And how to unfurl myself from the motley crew still sneaking up on me during the night. :)
That's a lot of pets! It could be hard to sleep with two adults, a baby, and the cat. Agnes died about a month ago, and I'm still surprised that I can lie down with my legs stretched out :-).
In re stretching one's legs out.. I admit, when that happens, it feels like something is missing. Yeah.. the "unmovable blocks" known as beloved pets.
Big male Siamese on my legs, little Lilac female on my tummy, little Blue female under one arm, Chocolate Lab worming her way up from the foot of the bed . . . husband scrunched up on six inches of the bed as the animals push him out of the way . . . it's a wonder anybody gets any sleep around here.
[The hard-core abortionist who helped edited the film threw up during the editing...]
