I'm a former boy scout and Air Force NCO ... yes, I believe you're right. The flag is never to be permanently altered in any way ... however ... our dear flag has been desecrated far worse than that by Camp Sheehan. There's no law ... it's simple honor, respect and decorum. I don't think many of us are offended by children writing notes of support to our military on her stripes.
