This whole Haliburton thing is SO last year. They are so unoriginal. I had a little problem here myself. My step-daughter brought her new boyfriend to meet us this weekend.(it's serious, they're talking marriage). I like him very much. He was in the Navy, but had a pretty serious injury that sent him home. She warned me that his politics tended to be liberal, but imagine my shock when he told me he thinks we went to war for OIL. OIL!!!!! I mean, couldn't he at least come up with something better than that???? I saw my step-daughter recoil in the back seat of the car when this discussion was going on. She knows me too well. But I decided that there's plenty of time to put this kid on the "right" path. He loves my step-daughter, treats her like a princess, so I might have to put up with some crazy talk once in awhile!!! :)
My sympathies. Make him watch Braveheart over and over.
How anyone can still believe that we liberated Iraq for "cheap oil" is beyond me. If that were true, we should be getting gas for a nickel a gallon, not nearly $3 bucks!
Hildy you have my condolences, but look at it this way. It's probably a person you have a pretty good chance of converting to the light side! I know you can do it!
