Country artist Mindy McCready was booked into the Pinellas County, Florida jail Friday night on a charge of violating her probation.
McCready was on probation in Williamson County. She had already been serving three years probation for obtaining a fake prescription for Oxycontin at a Brentwood pharmacy when she was arrested for driving under the influence in Belle Meade earlier this year. That arrest also violated her probation.
Friday evening, McCready was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on a warrant for violation of probation. She was being held without bond in the Florida jail, and is scheduled to have her first appearance Saturday morning.
McCready is also facing legal problems in Arizona after being indicted on five criminal charges there, and was recently hospitalized in Florida after a reported drug overdose.
What the heck is going on in country music? Taking cues from gangsta rap or what?
I'm not up on C&W, but wasn't she just a one-hit wonder from way-back when?
Again?
hmm, drugs. So that's what happened to her. Puts out one fairly decent album then obscurity. Sad really.
So what. Guys do it, all the time.
The downhome image notwithstanding, country music stars have historically matched, and sometimes exceeded, rock & roll in terms of drink, drugs, and debauchery. Hank Williams drank himself to death, with a little help along the way from a friendly doctor who provided him with morphine. Johnny Cash's drug of choice in the sixties and seventies was speed. Need I say anything about George Jones? Before he came up with the star spangled angle, Lee Greenwood had a serious coke habit. I could cite plenty of other, but that should suffice for an example.
She's dressed like a prostitute, not a country girl.
"Country Music" is a contradiction in terms.
Jambalaya! My fame Hank Williams Sr song!
yeah that's better.
She's very pretty and I wish her the best, anyone can make a mistake and get trapped in it.
>>>"Country Music" is a contradiction in terms.
"Rap music" is the real oxymoron.
ah hahaha... could be taken that way, couldn't it?
and her excuse.....
well "guys do it all the time" (also one of her songs)...
whatever happened to bad boys like Hank Jr and DAC that we knew were bad azz but didn't get in a lot of legal wranglings... even George Jones got a DUI (of course he almost killed himself when his suv went off a bridge too).
so i guess Lyle Lovett can be the first to open the doors to the lake of fire???
Now that's my kind of country music makers.
Don't know this artiste but her future is looking dim.
