I've noticed the same thing. Everybody is focusing on Florida, but it looks as though this storm is going to affect New Orleans. I still haven't heard whether the meeting I'm supposed to attend on Monday in New Orleans is going to be cancelled. I talked to a friend (and fellow early riser) in New Orleans a few minutes ago and they haven't even begun to think of evacuating. I'm begging her to bring her family to my house and to leave soon so she doesn't get stuck in that horrible evac. traffic.

Go and beg your friend some more. Better to be stuck in traffic than floating out into the Gulf.

Send her a link to some Camille or Audrey photos . . . or Lafcadio Hearn's novella Chita - a Memory of Last Island. That was the 1856 hurricane. It wiped Isle Derniere clean.
