THE FOLLOWING IS AN E-MAIL FROM MY BROTHER IN AFGHANISTAN, AN OFFICER TRAINING AFGHAN TROOPS. (I asterisked out e-mails and phone numbers for obvious reasons.)

I thought that the below information would be helpful as 60 Minutes has been snooping around - it is hard to tell what their actual agenda is but it doesn't matter as they have not been credentialed by CFC-A.

All, 60 mins is still in the AO. They ambushed one of our PRT commanders down in RC South today. No contact with the news crew is authorized. The 60 mins crew is not authorized to work with anyone from CJTF76. They are not credentialed by CFC-A and were told this before they arrived in Afghanistan.

Please pass this out to all subordinate commanders and all FOB.

Luckily with my brother there, I -- and by extension, WE -- have Freeper eyes and ears and boots on the ground.

For one thing -- You tell anyone who says the Afghans want us to leave that it ain't so. My brother tells me that the Afghans, civilian and military alike, the military brass in particular, get visibly upset when American troop level reductions are even hinted at (e.g., "Col. Ahmed, your unit is nearing completion of training and will be taking over this sector by such and such a date") never mind total withdrawal.
