He also began funding for the Governor's Council on Gay Youths, the group that brought us GLSEN and Gay Days. Google Weld and Helms (as in Senator Jesse Helms) for interesting reading...

The Bay State has elected Republican Governors since 1988. Striking when you consider the number of Republicans in the most liberal state in the country can fit into a phone booth with room left over.
