LONDON, England (UPI) -- Much of Europe faced a massive cleanup Friday after widespread, devastating floods killed at least 42 people.
Many persons were reported still missing in the aftermath of the storms that affected thousands of Europeans, the BBC said. Forecasters warned of more rain but said it has eased in many places. Romania was one of the countries most affected. Seven people were killed on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 31.
At least 11 people were also reported dead or missing in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, where the authorities were struggling to restore basic services.
Croatian authorities have declared a state of emergency in two regions. In the Swiss capital, Bern, helicopters have been used to pluck people from rooftops and residents are braced for more rescues amid rising water levels.
Elsewhere in Europe, people face a massive clean-up task as they return to flood-damaged homes.
But nobody listens to me, anyway. Just a geezer living in the Peoples Repubik of Oregon.
What area is "Nuch" Europe?
I think they hit "much" of Europe as well.
I never disputed you.
I just don't think Mankind has much to do with it.
It's a small land between France and Spain. It's chief export is cork, and is run by a Monarch named Prince Fergus of Gaol.
I got hit in the nuch once. Man that hurt.
Nice to meet a fellow geezer from the Peoples Republik of Oregon. You say nobody listens to you about the weather changes? Your name must be Matt Zaffino from channel two news! You'll get it right someday Matt, keep trying! When you say rain, I know it'll be a lovely warm day! :)
Have you seen this?

But Al Gore is out to lunch on the causes of global warming. Take a peek at my FR page for more information.
Sorry about the "nuch" . . . Meant to type "Much."
Droughts, heat waves, flooding and cold winters run in cycles, but memories are short.
Did anybody check to see if any snow fell in the Alps?
Weather happens. ;-)
Stop reading so much liberal propaganda. The Antarctic ice pack is actually getting larger.
And Europe has major flooding almost every year. I think Spain was last year, the Rhine valley the year before.
Acid rain is much more preferable than alkaline rain at least to fruit crops.
Sounds like South Texas to me ;)

How about deaths from mosguito born disease? Probably eclipse bacteria by a significant margine. Oh, the humanity.
