I understand what you mean. I guess is an artistic symptom – the kind of symptom writers, painters, or poets have once they get an idea in their heads.

The worst is when an idea shows up in the middle of the night with enough 'force' to wake me up.
Because I then cannot get back to sleep without first scribbling down at least a vague outline or rough idea of what I'd like to have on paper.
