965mb is getting squeaky close to Cat 3 pressure. Yikes.

I will pray that you get it. We sure don't need it here in NC mtns. So I'm "pushing" Katrina WEST!

Tampa local news predicting a possible Cat 4 at landfall--and landfall around MS coast.

Oh...good, we have a Texas poster pulling for that hurricane to come this way...

I just saw on Fox that it is going more west than was predicted, so I thought I would bump this thread...hoping to add some TExas pull!!! LOL

Jr---maybe if we both pull really hard...it will come all the way to Texas...ya think?

Good for us, bad for someone else now.

But I am guilt free in wishing it away from us...poor Florida, we've had our share, especially those folks in the Panhandle.

Remember in the movie Fiddler on the Roof. The men asked the Rabbi if there was a blessing for the Czar. The Rabbi replied, "Yes, God bless and keep the Czar far away from us."

Well that's how I feel about Katrina, LOL!

It does look like Pascagoula is the official guestimate as of 5 EDT.

Time to get ready folks.

I'm pulling as hard as I can! Of course, I don't live on the coast.....I'm in Kaufman Co.....I don't want any bad stuff from Katrina for my fellow Texans. A nice steady rain and cooler temps would be just perfect...ahhhhhhhhhh

OMGoodness. We were in Gulfport just 10 days ago and I now know the landscape, and it can't sustain a direct hit.

Your weather still beautiful? Ever learn the reason for diverting your flight last nite to Orlando? Has Dawn checked in today? (I guess I COULD check for myself...lol).

I'm here. Our weather's just been a little breezy. One brief rain shower.

NautiNurse drove over the Skyway...that must have been fun!

The Skyway is our version of the Dolly Parton bridge, LOL (I'm still laughing about that one from another hurricane thread.)

Oh here you are! I was just asking about you.

I totally agree with you: FL has had more than its share.

Still don't know why I couldn't get into Tampa last night. At the parking garage, the attendant had just talked to someone else who had to fly into Orlando last night too. Weird.

Ha!--got caught in that one brief shower on I-275 near the Trop earlier. Egads! Traffic slowed to 30 mph. What a mess.

Well the death toll in Florida stands at 6 already.

They probably downplayed the storm a little, IMHO, and people were outside and trees feel on them. Plus the forecasting has been off, but you can't blame anybody for that (other than the fact that they still like to draw lines instead of just putting up a cone, I think lines on a projected path map gives people a false sense of security.)

We just got back from Neighborhood Crime Watch Patrol and noticed even with mildy breezy weather today there were branches down in a few yards. Doesn't take much wind to bring down a branch or a tree that is weakened.
