Let them 'spend their seed' on Roberts....there are another two or three justice nominations coming down the pike during Bush's Presidency.

I demand Schmucky Schumer explain his lack of personal recusal concerning the environment and species protection.
He is personally impacted by any pending investigation or legislation as he is clearly POND SCUM.

LOL... a reference is made by a White Hose spokesman that

"the opponents of Judge Roberts are increasingly grasping at straws trying to find a rationale for opposing him."

so true.

Libs are desperate to defend Al Qaeda. Wow, they're searching for angles and finding out with which to bork Roberts. So they're reduced to whining about recusals. Pathetic!

The Republicans should have blocked Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She's a radical left wing disgrace and they didn't lift a finger to stop her.

Rove strikes again! How on earth did Rove get the Dems to complain about Roberts for a case in which he ruled against terrorists? Genius! Almost to the level of planting the fake TANG memo on Bill Burkett.

Did I read correctly the other night,
that Schumer has never practiced law?

I always thought he was a lawyer. Sure does have the 'greasy' part down pat.

A product of the Brooklyn public schools, Chuck, who was born on November 23, 1950, is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He was elected to the New York State Assembly at age 23 -- making him one of the youngest members since Theodore Roosevelt -- and to Congress at 29.

Guess that's what they meant.

That he had never 'practiced' Law.

He practiced ambulance chasing but caught one once when it stopped on him unexpectedly and rapped his head on it pretty good.

Shortly thereafter, he went into politics.

It seemed like a good fit for his mental state, at that point.;-)

A case about military tribunals for captured terrorists has no connection to being interviewed for a POSSIBLE nomination on the Supreme Court.

A case about the ABA from which Roberts might personally covet a good rating would be a possible conflict of interest.

The terrorists could not reward him for a helpful response, nor could the administration since the Senate does the confirming.

Feinsten might be an expert on both the ferret and the gerbil.

There could be strings attached, as always.

As for the war on terror, "she" can spare me her self righteous sophistry.

Exactly. The article naturally doesn't state with specificity that the recusal in the ABA matter was after his nomination. He had no reason to recuse himself in Hamdan at any time before he was actually nominated. Heck, he ought to be able to hear any case involving the Bush administration even after he's been nominated, just like any other SCOTUS justice. Breyer and Ginsberg didn't sit out on any of Klintoon's cases.

". . . they want Supreme Court nominee John Roberts to explain before his confirmation hearings why he continued to judge a lawsuit against the Bush administration while being interviewed to be a justice.

He'll answer just as soon as Ruth Bader Ginsberg explains why she doesn't recuse herself from cases involving her religion-- the ACLU.
