This will provide Arnold the tool he needs to declare a border emergency. The Democrat Speaker, Nunez has already urged him to do so.

The CA Dems will vote this down IMO, which is also great to use against them the next time they run for re-election.

The Democrat Speaker, Nunez has already urged him to do so.
Now, this is interesting. Did Nunez urge Schwarzenegger to declare an emergency knowing that he didn't have the authority to do so? And, if that's the case, is he now stuck having to live up to his demands? (I hope!)

I don't think dems will vote it down...declaring an emergency opens the money floodgates, and dems like that. So far all I've seen from New Mexico and Arizona is wrangling over money, and have yet to see any plans to stop the illegal immigration come from those states. IMO, it's all about money, not stopping the problem.

How about a prop 187 denying benefits to illegals??...oh that was already passed 5 years ago..and thrown out by the dirty robes....nevermind. I'm exhausted with this. Let me know when its time to go door to door.

So far all I've seen from New Mexico and Arizona is wrangling over money, Cochise County (AZ) Supervisors are sitting down with State officials next week to discuss how to apply for reimbursement of costs related to illlegal aliens and what activities qualify for reimbursement.
Yup...you called that one right.

You're exactly right. Get fed money, and leave the door open. What a racket.

"Do the math. California has been dealing with an ongoing, structural General Fund deficit of nearly $6 billion. And Ive seen estimates that illegal immigration costs California taxpayers between $12 to 18 billion dollars per year to educate, incarcerate, and provide health care and other services to illegal aliens."
This would cost a lot less:

State Senators Dennis Hollingsworth (R-Murrieta) and Bill Morrow (R-Oceanside) and Assemblymen Ray Haynes (R-Murrieta) and Mark Wyland (R-North San Diego County) unveiled a proposal to address the emerging illegal immigration crisis Did they just wake the f#%k up? The pandering SOBs must be feeling the heat and W ought to take note. Action proves sincerity so I guess we'll see.

New Mexico, Arizona and soon (hopefully) California. You know I do believe that when the citizenry get PISSED, all of a sudden the pols discover a problem...how about that?

And Ive seen estimates that illegal immigration costs California taxpayers between $12 to 18 billion dollars per year to educate, incarcerate, and provide health care and other services to illegal aliens.I've been using a figure only half that. Is a border wall really going to cost the United States over its useful life as much as illegal immigration costs just the State of California in ONE YEAR? (And those figures are only going to go UP and UP in future years if we don't do anything about this crisis...)
