I'm white. I do not consider myself to be racist.
However, when I see young black men wearing their hats sideways, and their pants hanging off, covered in jewelry, swaggering around using filthy language, they frighten me.
I do not think it is a black/white thing. It is a perception of good vs. bad when these young men walk, talk and dress like gang members. Of course I am not saying that all of them are. But the way a person chooses to present themselves goes a long way in other people's perceptions.
If I were walking down the street, and on one side there was a group of young black men dressed like college students, and on the other side was a similar group only they were dressed like thugs because that is "in style", I would certainly stay on the side of the mainstream kids.
Personally, I think the current pop culture that exists in the black community has done a lot of damage.
I am certainly not trying to offend. I just want your opinion on the current culture, and whether you think my perception of why some people on these threads might have said some of the things they said.
